Liverpool monitoring promising Arsenal duo
Liverpool are reportedly keeping a close eye on Arsenal duo Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka with a view to a possible approach in one of the future transfer windows.
The Reds have excelled in the Premier League this term and they are currently holding a staggering 25-point lead over Manchester City at the top of the standings.
Jurgen Klopp's side of course have a number of quality young players in their ranks but Football Insider claims that the German manager has urged the recruitment team to track the progress of Martinelli and Saka.
Martinelli, who was signed by the Gunners from Ituano last summer, has been a huge hit and has already contributed 10 goals and two assists across all competitions. He is contracted to the club until June 2024.
In comparison, academy graduate Saka has bagged eight assists and three goals and he has particularly impressed with his versatility to play anywhere on the left side of the field.
The teenager has just 17 months remaining on his existing deal with the Gunners and a number of clubs including Liverpool and Manchester United are said to be monitoring his situation.
The England youth international is deemed to be negotiations over a contract renewal and reports have emerged that the 18-year-old could be handed with a 1000 percent raise on his current wages of just £3,000-a-week.
