Chelsea keen on signing Argentine striker

Icardi wanted by Chelsea?

Chelsea are reportedly keen on landing the signature of Mauro Icardi, who has enjoyed a superb season with Paris Saint-Germain on loan from Inter Milan.

The Blues have three strikers in Tammy Abraham, Olivier Giroud and Michy Batshuayi in their ranks this summer but there are doubts regarding the positions of the latter two.

Giroud may leave the west London side when his contract expires at the end of the season while Batshuayi has been heavily linked with a summer departure, having struggled to impress in the back-up role of late.

According to FC Inter News, the Blues could be in the running to sign Icardi despite the fact that Les Parisiens have the option to buy the Argentine for £54.42m this summer.

Icardi's agent and wife Wanda Nara has recently stated that the striker has yet to decide on his future and it is claimed that the Argentine could favour a move to the Premier League rather than staying put in Paris.

Icardi has bagged 16 goals and two assists for Les Parisiens this season. Five of those goals have come in the Champions League. He was, however, surprisingly benched for the entire first leg of the round of 16 clash against Borussia Dortmund.
