Blaise Matuidi confirms contract extension with Juventus
French midfielder Blaise Matuidi has reportedly renewed his contract with Juventus.
The 32-year-old was linked with a move to Ligue 1 side Lyon but has now dismissed the transfer links by committing his future to Bianconeri.
According to Goal.com, Matuidi has signed a contract renewal, extending his stay at Turin for one more year.
Matuidi said:
"I will stay here, my contract included a clause for an additional year in option and the club has decided to exercise it. I am very happy to continue another season here."
"I never had any doubts because I felt the trust of all parties. It is certain that I am getting old and in this choice, I also think of my family who love Turin.”
The former PSG man has featured mostly in all the games for Juve this season – 22 in Serie A and 5 in UCL.
Meanwhile, the Bianconeri are also linked with Matuidi’s World Cup-winning teammate Paul Pogba, who is likely to leave Manchester United this summer.
