Chelsea to battle with Inter for highly-rated Serie A midfielder?
Chelsea are reportedly set to battle Inter Milan for the signing of Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
The Serbian midfielder had been on the Blues’ wishlist for sometime before the overturn of their transfer ban.
According to Goal.com, the West London club have joined the transfer race for Milinkovic-Savic though Inter turn out to be the frontrunners.
The 25-year-old has been the catalyst for Simone Inzaghi's side this season, racking up four goals and 5 assists in Serie A – his recent impressive display was against the Nerazzurri where he scored the decisive goal.
Being the most advanced midfielder alongside Luis Alberto and Lucas Leiva, Milinkovic-Savic's defensive abilities have also improved this season as he averages 1.6 tackles and 1.3 interceptions per game.
The Blues are said to be preparing an exodus of around eight players this summer which may include midfielders Ross Barkley and Jorginho.
Alongside Inter, PSG could throw a spanner in the works as they are also eyeing a summer move for the Serbian midfielder.
