Arsenal could battle it out with Tottenham Hotspur to sign RB Leipzig attacker Marcel Sabitzer at the end of the campaign.

The 25-year-old has been in sublime form for the German outfit this term and he has already contributed 15 goals and eight assists in all competitions.

According to Calciomercato, Spurs boss Jose Mourinho is keen on landing the services of Sabitzer after being impressed with the attacker's display in the recent Champions League meeting.

Earlier this week, Spurs were eliminated from the competition with a 4-0 aggregate defeat to Leipzig and Sabitzer was the standout performer in the second leg as he scored a brace in a 3-0 triumph.

Aside from Spurs, north London rivals Arsenal are also understood to be monitoring the progress of the Austrian footballer and the duo could compete with each other to sign the former Rapid Wien youngster.

Arsenal are presently five points adrift of a potential Champions League spot with a game in hand. Spurs, meanwhile, are one point ahead of the Gunners in the league standings.
