Aouar wanted by Juventus as Pogba move falls through

Juventus have decided to adjust one of their transfer targets for the summer to French midfielder Houssem Aouar after the club reportedly missed out on Man Utd player Paul Pogba. According to reports from Manchester, Pogba has been told that he will be staying at Old Trafford next season.

The 21-year-old Aouar has been a revelation in Ligue 1 this season and has so far scored 9 goals and returned 7 assists, capturing the interest of the Serie A giants, who have deployed a scout every week to monitor the form of the attacking midfielder.

With the arrival of Bruno Fernandes at United, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hopes to partner the Portuguese midfielder with Pogba when the player returns from injury, thus ending Juventus' hopes of reuniting with the French World Cup winning midfielder.

Solskjaer told reporters: "Paul's our player. He has two years left on his contract, a year plus the option of another. You can expect Paul to be here (next season)."

Aouar has yet to play for France at international level, but has been in and out of the French under-21 international side in recent seasons, and has bagged a total of 16 goals in close to 100 games since making his debut for Lyon in 2017. He is valued at around 50 million euros, and is considered one of Europe's best young talents.
