Manchester United eyeing move for Inter Milan defender

Godin to Man United?

Manchester United could reportedly seek to land the signature of Diego Godin from Inter Milan when the transfer window reopens in the summer.

The 34-year-old parted ways with Atletico Madrid after nine seasons last summer and he thereafter joined the Nerazzurri on a free transfer.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the veteran could part ways with the Nerazzurri after just one season as he does not seem to fit into Antonio Conte's 3-5-2 formation.

The same outlet claims that the Red Devils are weighing up a possible move for the Uruguayan, who was previously on their radar under former boss Jose Mourinho.

United have Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire as the undisputed starters in the central defence and they have the likes of Phil Jones and Eric Bailly to provide the back-up.

However, the future of Jones remains doubtful and Godin could potentially replace the England international at Old Trafford. Jones has been touted to make the move to Newcastle United during the summer transfer window.
