Matthijs de Ligt's father responds to Manchester United speculation
The father of Matthijs de Ligt has rubbished the ongoing speculation linking the defender with a possible move to Manchester United in the Premier League.
The Netherlands international was the subject of interest from the Red Devils last summer but he eventually made the move to Turin from Ajax for a reported fee of £65m.
The centre-back has since experienced an average debut season with the Bianconeri and reports have claimed that he could head through the exit door during the summer.
Of late, there has been the speculation that De Ligt could make the move to Old Trafford in a player-plus-cash deal for Paul Pogba but his father has dismissed the possibility of that happening.
"It's just rumours, that's all, there's nothing more to say about it. Matthijs doesn't regret having chosen Juve at all, he and Annekee [Molenaar] are really enjoying themselves in Turin and maybe they can spend some more time in Italy," he told Tuttojuve.
De Ligt has made 17 appearances in the Serie A this term. Despite his inconsistent form, he has been able to command a starting role due to the long-term injuries for Giorgio Chiellini and Merih Demiral.
