Lingard wants Man United stay

Manchester United attacker Jesse Lingard is said to have no plans of leaving the Red Devils despite the reported interest from Premier League rivals Arsenal.

The England international has fallen down the pecking order as the season has progressed and he is currently regarded as a squad player under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Amidst this, the 27-year-old has been linked with a possible departure from Old Trafford but Metro claims that the attacker would rather prefer to fight for his United future.

Lingard has another 15 months remaining on his existing deal with the club but United will of course have the option of extending his stay for another 12 months.

As such, the forward seems keen on staying put beyond the summer transfer window and he won't push for a departure unless the club compel him to pursue a fresh challenge.

Lingard has barely been an attacking influence over the past 16 months and he has no made any goalscoring contribution in the Premier League since the beginning of 2019.
