Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko is reportedly keen on sealing a return to AC Milan during the next transfer window.

The France international joined the Blues from AS Monaco in 2017 but he had a disappointing debut season where he struggled to cope with the demands of the Premier League.

As a result, he was loaned out to the Rossoneri during the 2017/18 campaign and was able to impress in his 31 Serie A appearances, scoring a couple of goals in the process.

Bakayoko has since spent time on loan with ex-club Monaco but Calciomercato claims that he is eager to return to the Rossoneri when the transfer window reopens.

Monaco currently have the option of signing him permanently for £40m but they are expected to reject the opportunity amid the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Rossoneri are likewise unlikely to make a bid with the current valuation of Bakayoko and the Blues may need to significantly reduce the price to sanction his sale.

Bakayoko has more than two years remaining on his existing loan contract with the Blues. The west London side can afford to delay his permanent departure for at least another season to command a better fee.
