Mesut Ozil unsure about his Arsenal future according to agent
The agent of former Germany international and current Arsenal attacking midfielder Mesut Ozil has revealed that his future is not year clear, as the former Real Madrid man appears to be set to leave the Emirates Stadium at the end of his current deal. Ozil, who earns £300,000 per week, is deemed surplus to requirements by current manager Mikel Arteta.
Fenerbahce have been constantly linked with a transfer deal for Ozil, but the agent of the player insists that the German intends to see out the remainder of his current deal.
“Mesut has a one-year contract,” agent Erkut Sogut said. “There will be no change in this regard. So what happens next, time will show. Mesut will be 32 years old and will have a few more years in his career. Mesut and his family will make a decision.”
It is understood that Ozil intends to stay in North London for the 2020/21 season and see out the final year of his deal, even though he has long-term plans to return to Turkey to end his footballing career.
