Paris Saint-Germain enter the race to sign Arsenal star

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang news

PSG want Aubameyang

French champions Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly entered the race to sign Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang during the summer.

The Gabon international has only 13 months remaining on his contract with the Gunners and this has led to the speculation that he could be sold at the end of the current season.

Chelsea, Inter Milan and Barcelona have been credited with an interest in Aubameyang in recent weeks but Le 10 Sport claims that Les Parisiens are now firmly in the race to sign the 30-year-old.

The north London side were likely to demand around £50m to part ways with Aubameyang before the coronavirus outbreak but it is now believed that the forward could leave the club for as little as £30m.

Aubameyang has netted 61 goals since joining the Gunners from Borussia Dortmund two years ago. 20 of those have come in the current campaign from just 31 appearances in all competitions.

Meanwhile, Les Parisiens could decline the option of signing Mauro Icardi on a permanent basis from Inter Milan, suppose they reach an agreement for Aubameyang's services.

Icardi has netted 20 goals for Les Parisiens on loan this term. They have the option to buy him for around £62m. That figure remains a hefty one, considering the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
