Parlour urges Arsenal to sell Aubameyang

Arsenal legend Ray Parlour believes the club should sanction the sale of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this summer amid his reluctance to sign a new contract.

The Gabon international has just over 12 months remaining on his existing deal with the Gunners and there has apparently been no progress in the contract negotiations.

As a result, he has been touted to head through the exit door in the next transfer window but there has also been the suggestion that the club could keep hold of him, if they don't receive an offer of around £30m.

Speaking to TalkSPORT, Parlour has now insisted that the club should take the money from Aubameyang's sale rather than keeping hold of him for the final year of his contract.

"I think you've got to sell him if he doesn't sign a contract, and then take the money and try to replace him. It's really difficult to keep a player if he doesn't want to stay," He told.

Aubameyang has been a consistent performer for the north London giants and he has bagged 61 goals from just 97 outings. Out of those, he has netted 20 times during the current campaign.
