Chelsea end their interest in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Chelsea are set to end their interest in Arsenal's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as they are close to securing the services of Timo Werner.
The Blues have recently agreed to trigger the £50m release clause in Werner's contract at RB Leipzig and reports claim that the German is open to joining the club.
In this case, a deal is likely to be concluded in the next couple of days and ESPN reports that the forward's arrival should end the club's recent interest in signing Aubameyang.
Aubameyang has been fancied to leave the Gunners with his contract expiring in 12 months' time and he has been linked with a number of elite clubs including Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has recently intervened in the contract talks with the marksman to convince him to stay and it remains to be seen whether the Gabon international has any intention of extending his stay with the club.
Aubameyang has netted 20 goals for the Gunners this term.
