Leicester City close to signing Liverpool midfielder
Leicester City are reportedly close to reaching a verbal agreement to sign Adam Lallana when his contract with Liverpool expires during the summer.
The 32-year-old has been with the Reds for the past five-and-a-half seasons but he is expected to head through the exit door when the current campaign concludes.
Lallana has been linked with a free transfer to a number of clubs including Arsenal and West Ham United but The Mirror claims that the Foxes are leading the race to sign the ex-Southampton graduate.
It is added that manager Brendan Rodgers will prove key towards the deal, having previously signed the player when he was the Liverpool manager in 2014.
Lallana has made 22 appearances across all competitions for Jurgen Klopp's side this term. The vast majority of those outings have come off the substitutes' bench.
His current deal with the Reds expires on June 30 but the club have the provision to extend his stay until the end of the current season which has been delayed by the coronavirus pandemic.
