Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur receive boost in signing Barcelona star
Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have received a boost in signing Philippe Coutinho on loan with Barcelona prepared to pay part of the wages.
The Brazil international is presently on loan at Bayern Munich where he has impressed with nine goals and eight assists in all competitions this term.
He is still expected to return to the Camp Nou this summer with the German side having decided against triggering the buy clause available.
A recent report from ESPN claimed that Coutinho may prefer a return to the Premier League next season with the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham keen on signing him on loan.
Still, his £250,000-a-week salary was highlighted as a major stumbling block but it appears that the Blaugrana are prepared to ease the concerns by contributing part of the wages during his temporary stay, The Telegraph claims.
Coutinho has played no part for Bayern since the restart of the Bundesliga season because of an ankle surgery. He has, however, returned to individual training and could play a role in the coming weeks.
