Chelsea star heading for permanent exit
Chelsea star heading for permanent exit
Belgium international Michy Batshuayi will make a permanent move away from Chelsea this summer, a report from The Athletic claims.
The 26-year-old has struggled for regular gametime with the Blues this term and he is presently the third-choice striker behind Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud.
He has been involved sparingly in the club's preparation matches ahead of the season restart this month and he was recently omitted from the squad to face Reading in a friendly.
According to The Athletic, manager Frank Lampard has made it clear to Batshuayi that he does not feature in his plans through the omission and the striker is expected to head through the exit door this summer.
He has just over 12 months remaining on his existing deal with the Blues. Both West Ham United and Crystal Palace have expressed an interest in acquiring his services.
It is reported that the Blues want at least £40m for his sale but they are likely to reduce the price tag, considering the London duo won't be able to afford the sum amid the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
