Premier League trio step up interest in Leon Bailey

Leon Bailey news

Leon Bailey: on his way to Premier League?

Man City, Man Utd and Chelsea have all joined the race to sign Bayer Leverkusen's talented attacker Leon Bailey during this summer transfer window. The Jamaican international, 22, has caught the eye in the Bundesliga and now looks set to make a move to the Premier League.

Bailey has so far scored five goals in the Bundesliga this season, adding to his previous tallies of 5 and 9 league goals over the past two domestic campaigns. His performances have been monitored by a number of Premier League scouts, and it is understood that Man City are in pole position to secure a move for Bailey. Man City boss Pep Guardiola hopes to bring in the Jamaican starlet as a long-term replacement for Leroy Sane. Sane will likely leave the Etihad Stadium this summer, with a transfer to Bayern Munich increasingly likely.

City will recoup around 70 million euros for the sale of Sane, which will be spent on acquiring Bailey. It is understood the winger has a release fee of around 63 million euros with Leverkusen.

Man Utd are also monitoring the situation, as Daniel James continues to show that perhaps he is not ready to lead the line at Old Trafford; whilst Chelsea have indicated they are ready to spend upward of £300 million during the upcoming summer transfer window
