Liverpool, Chelsea keen on signing Bayern Munich star?
Bayern Munich defender David Alaba has reportedly emerged as a target for both Liverpool and Chelsea ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Austria international has spent his entire career with the Bavarian giants but it is unclear whether he will remain with the club next term.
Alaba has only 12 months remaining in his existing deal and Bayern are likely to be tempted to sell him, suppose he fails to negotiate a fresh long-term contract in the coming months.
According to The Mail, a number of high-profile European clubs are keeping tabs on the defender, who can comfortably play at left-back or at the heart of the backline.
The likes of Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are said to be long-term admirers of the 27-year-old but it is reported that they could face competition from Liverpool and Chelsea.
Jurgen Klopp's side don't have the need for a regular left-back with the consistent showing of Andrew Robertson, but the manager is still open to finding a new central defensive partner for Virgil van Dijk.
On the other hand, the Blues are actively looking to sign a new left-back and they have been fancied to pursue Ben Chilwell from Leicester City. It is reported that Alaba could be an alternative target for them.
