Barcelona slash Coutinho asking price further

Chelsea and Arsenal have been put on alert with Barcelona having further reduced the asking price of Philippe Coutinho.

The 27-year-old is presently out on loan at Bayern Munich where he has bagged nine goals and eight assists, but the club have decided against signing him permanently.

Hence, he will return to the Camp Nou at the end of their Champions League campaign in August and reports claim that he could prefer a return to the Premier League.

The Blues and Gunners have been regularly linked with the ex-Liverpool star and Diario Sport claims that the Blaugrana are prepared to entertain offers of £63m to offload him on a permanent basis.

Meanwhile, the Catalan giants are also willing to loan him out for the second season running, but they may want the inclusion of an obligatory buy clause in the temporary deal.

Chelsea are currently in a strong financial position when compared to their London rivals Arsenal. Still, the Gunners can't be ruled out from making an initial loan bid, given they could assure him a regular starting berth.
