Thomas Partey on his way to Arsenal?

Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey will make the switch to Arsenal during the next transfer window, a report from La Razon claims.

The Ghana international has been heavily tipped to join the Gunners in recent months and it appears that Atletico are already preparing for his departure.

According to La Razon, the midfielder is set to make the move to the Emirates this summer and the lack of Champions League football won't have any effect on the player's decision.

The same outlet suggests that Atleti are already on the search for a suitable replacement for the 27-year-old, who has turned out 39 times for the club this season.

Atleti have been in regular discussions with Partey and his agent over a new contract, but they have been unable to reach an agreement, with the midfielder said to be determined to join the Gunners.

He has more than three years remaining on his current deal with Atleti, but they find themselves in a helpless situation with the Gunners fancied to trigger the £45m release clause in his contract.
