Chelsea to fund Kai Havertz move from player sales?

Chelsea tipped to sign Havertz this summer

Chelsea could reportedly use the funds raised from player sales to sanction the transfer of Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen this summer.

The west London side have already agreed to sign Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner from Ajax and RB Leipzig respectively and they are said to be eyeing further reinforcements in the attack.

Havertz is reportedly the next attacking target on their radar and German outlet Sport1 claims that the Blues are likely to make a move for the 21-year-old in the next few months.

It is added that the west London side are presently aiming to recoup funds from player sales such that they are in a financially good position to meet the asking price for Havertz.

Havertz is currently valued at around £90m by Leverkusen but it is claimed that the price tag could reduce by £20m, suppose the German outfit fail to qualify for next season's Champions League.

Chelsea recently confirmed the sale of midfielder Mario Pasalic to Atalanta BC for £13.5m. A number of other players are likely to head for the exit door in the near future.
