Manchester City want ex-Arsenal midfielder?

Bennacer on the move?

Manchester City are reportedly exploring the possibility of signing AC Milan midfielder Ismael Bennacer, who was previously in the youth ranks of Arsenal.

The Algeria international only made the move to the Rossoneri from Empoli last summer, but he has caught the eye of elite European sides with his displays.

Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid have already been credited with an interest in the 22-year-old, but Calciomercato claims that the Cityzens are also looking at the possibility of securing the player's services.

Milan have previously had troubles with UEFA due to their failure to meet the Financial Fair Play guidelines and reports claim that they could accept offers of more than £45m for the ex-Arsenal graduate.

Bennacer has made 25 appearances for the Rossoneri in all competitions. He currently has a £45m buy-out clause in his deal which does not become active until June 2021, but the club appear open to accepting a similar fee this summer.

The Algerian will be in Serie A action against Roma this afternoon.
