Kai Havertz open to Chelsea transfer
Bayer Leverkusen attacker Kai Havertz is reportedly open to the prospect of joining Chelsea during the summer transfer window.
The Blues have been regularly linked with the German over the past few weeks and they have yet to make a formal bid for his services.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the club's hierarchy have made contact with the representatives of the attacker regarding a possible summer transfer.
The Italian added that Havertz would be open to joining the Blues, but the club will need to meet Leverkusen's £81m price tag to land his signature.
Havertz has bagged 17 goals and nine assists from 43 games for Leverkusen this term. Despite his efforts, Leverkusen missed out on making the top four of the Bundesliga which would assure them Champions League football next term.
They can still qualify for the elite competition by winning the Europa League title next month, but it is unclear whether he would remain with the club by then, given the uncertainty regarding his future.
