Chelsea keeping tabs on Bayern Munich defender
Chelsea are reportedly monitoring the contract situation of Bayern Munich defender David Alaba.
Alaba has spent his entire career with the Bavarian giants, but there is the uncertainty over his future beyond the current season.
The Austrian has yet to commit to a new contract beyond June 2021 and that could pave the way for his departure this summer.
According to The Express, the Blues are keeping tabs on the 28-year-old, who is capable of playing as a central defender or a left-back.
Blues boss Frank Lampard is eyeing a ball-playing defender in the back three and Alaba would perfectly suit his requirement.
On the other hand, he is also on the look out for a new left wing-back and Alaba can also comfortably feature into that position.
Alaba has played the majority of his career on the left side of the backline, but he has excelled in the centre-back role alongside Jerome Boateng this term.
