Juventus enter Partey chase

Juventus have reportedly joined Arsenal in the race to sign Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid during the current transfer window.

The Gunners have been fancied to sign Partey over the past month, but they have shown the reluctance to trigger the £45m release clause.

They are currently struggling to agree a part-exchange deal with Atletico and Gazzetta dello Sport claims that the Bianconeri have now registered an interest in the midfielder's services.

Similar to the Gunners, the Italian champions are not in a position to put together a straight-cash deal and they are hoping to swap one of their players to reduce the price tag.

Atletico are currently reluctant to sell Partey unless the buy-out clause is activated. The midfielder has nearly three years remaining on his contract and the club are happy to keep him for next season.

Partey has made more than 180 appearances for Atletico to date. He is currently on a £65,000-a-week contract and has turned down an improved deal as he is eager to join the Gunners this summer.
