Liverpool set asking price for Georginio Wijnaldum
Liverpool have reportedly set an asking price for midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum amid the transfer interest from Barcelona.
The Netherlands international has less than 10 months remaining on his Reds contract and so far, negotiations over a renewal have reached a standstill.
According to The Mirror, the Merseyside outfit are aware of the interest in the midfielder from the Blaugrana, who recently appointed Ronald Koeman as their new manager.
Koeman has previously worked with the Dutchman at the international level and believes the midfielder could prove the perfect fit for the Blaugrana, who are going through a mini-transition.
The Catalan giants are yet to make an official bid for the player's services, but it is reported that the Reds are willing to accept as little as £15m to part ways with the former Newcastle United man.
Liverpool are currently looking into a deal for Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara and the departure of Wijnaldum could provide them additional funds to push through a move for the Spaniard.
