Sheffield United boss confirms interest in Arsenal graduate
Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has confirmed that the club are interested in landing the services of Arsenal graduate Folarin Balogun.
The 19-year-old is one of the promising youngsters in the Gunners' academy, but they have been unable to convince him to sign a fresh deal beyond this season.
Hence, the north London giants have decided to sanction his departure, but so far, no club has been willing to meet their £8m asking price for the teenager.
Both Sheffield and Brighton & Hove Albion have been credited with an interest in his services and a recent report revealed that the Blades had failed with a £3m transfer offer.
Speaking ahead of Thursday's League Cup tie versus Burnley, Wilder confirmed that the Blades are looking at the possibility of signing Balogun from the Gunners.
"We made an enquiry regarding the young man at Arsenal. That is left with the CEO at our football club and at Arsenal. The last one that we've talked about, at the top of the pitch, we want attributes that suit us and hopefully move us forward," He told.
Sheffield United have signed the likes of Aaron Ramsdale, Max Lowe, Jayden Bogle and Oliver Burke this summer. Burke recently joined them in a straight swap deal involving Callum Robinson.
