Arsenal lining up Houssem Aouar bid?

Arsenal could make a concrete bid to sign Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar once they part ways with the services of Lucas Torreira.

The Gunners have already sold Emiliano Martinez to Aston Villa for £20m and they are close to sanctioning Torreira's sale to Torino for a similar package.

According to ESPN's Julien Laurens, the north London side are keen on signing Aouar and they could make an offer of around £36.5m after the exit of Torreira.

Aouar had an impressive 2019/2020 campaign with Les Gones and he contributed nine goals and 11 assists from 41 appearances across all competitions.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta remains a huge admirer of the 22-year-old and Fabrizio Romano has recently said that Aouar would also like to join the capital outfit before the transfer window closes.

Arteta's side were prepared to offer Matteo Guendouzi in a part-exchange deal for Aouar earlier this month, but the proposal was swiftly rejected by Les Gones.
