Liverpool close to fourth summer signing?

Liverpool are reportedly pressing ahead with their plans to sign Ismaila Sarr from Championship side Watford.

The Senegal international joined the Hornets for a club-record £30m fee from Rennes last summer and he had a decent debut season with five goals and six assists across all competitions.

Since their relegation from the Premier League, he has been fancied to pursue a fresh challenge and France Football claims that the Reds are in negotiations with the Hornets to finalise his transfer.

The Merseyside giants had signed only Kostas Tsimikas until mid-September, but over the past week, they have landed the services of both Thiago Alcantara and Diogo Jota.

Jota will enhance their attacking depth for the campaign, but they are still keen on landing the services of Sarr. The Reds are planning to meet the Hornets' £36m price tag, but may only be willing to pay in instalments.

Watford are in no rush to part ways with the winger, but they are likely to sanction his sale in the coming days such that they can reduce their wage bill, having returned to the second tier.
