Lyon president responds to Arsenal offer for Houssem Aouar

Aulas says Arsenal's offer for Aouar is very low

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has confirmed that Arsenal have made an offer for Houssem Aouar, which is too far from their price tag.

The Frenchman has been identified as one of Mikel Arteta's prime targets for the summer and a recent report from RMC Sport revealed that the Gunners had made a formal bid worth £32m.

However, the proposal has been swiftly snubbed by Les Gones and Aulas revealed the same through his official Twitter account, earlier on Saturday.

"For Houssem, Arsenal is too far from his value: we are counting on him to play a great match in Lorient and lead OL in CL next year," He tweeted.

Les Gones are looking for around £55m for the sale of Aulas and as things stand, the Gunners are unlikely to meet the valuation for the midfielder.

Still, they are optimistic of pushing through an agreement and talks are set to continue over the next few days with the means of finalising a deal.
