Man Utd to miss out on Ousmane Dembele
Barcelona and France international attacker Ousmane Dembele will not be allowed to leave the La Liga side this summer, despite the ongoing interest of Manchester United. The Premier League side had initially been linked with a loan move for the wantaway player, but it now appears Dembele has decided to stay put at the Nou Camp and fight for his place in the club's first team.
Dembele had reportedly wanted a move to England after the appointment of Ronald Koeman as manager, and with his current club in disarray. The World Cup winning attacker has long been an admirer of Man Utd and after a proposed move for Borussia Dortmund wide man Jadon Sancho to move to Old Trafford, United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been forced to turn his attentions elsewhere.
However, it appears that Barcelona are now unwilling to part company with Dembele, informing the 23-year-old that he must stay with the club.
Ramon Planes, the Barcelona sporting director, told reporters today: "There are no negotiations with Manchester United. He is a player we are counting on."
