Cavani to join Man United

Manchester United have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Edinson Cavani on a free transfer.

The Uruguayan is out-of-contract since parting ways with Paris Saint-Germain earlier this summer.

He had been linked with a move to Benfica last month, but the deal fell through due to his salary demands and agent fees.

According to ESPN, the Red Devils have now agreed a suitable deal with Cavani and he could officially join them in the next 24 hours.

The marksman is expected to sign a one-year contract worth £210,000-a-week with the option for another 12 months.

He will become their second signing of the transfer window after the arrival of midfielder Donny van de Beek from Ajax.

United are still on the hunt for a new left-back and Alex Telles is reportedly their prime target for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

They have been reluctant to meet the £25m price tag set by Porto, but things could change before Monday's 5pm transfer deadline.
