Chelsea interested in signing Thomas Partey?
Chelsea could make a late move to sign midfielder Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid, a report from The Telegraph claims.
The Blues have already spent £220m on seven major signings and manager Frank Lampard is eyeing one more player before Monday's deadline.
West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice is said to be the preferred target, but the club may struggle to convince the Hammers to sell him.
Hence, they may look at an alternative and it is reported that the Blues may attempt to land the signature of Partey from Atleti.
The La Liga giants are not keen on the departure of Partey, but they may be helpless in keeping hold of him, if his £45m release clause is triggered.
Partey is open to moving to the Premier League and he was widely fancied to join Arsenal earlier in the summer.
The north London outfit are unable to afford the buy-out clause at the moment and the Blues could capitalise to sign the Ghanaian.
