Arsenal set their sights on signing Chelsea midfielder
Arsenal are looking into a late deal for Chelsea midfielder Jorginho after failing in their pursuit of Houssem Aouar.
The Gunners have been in constant contact with Lyon for Aouar in recent weeks, but they have failed to find an agreement.
Their latest offer of €38m plus add-ons has fallen short of Les Gones' €50m price tag and it appears that Aouar will stay put.
Hence, they are looking into possible alternatives to bolster the midfield and ESPN's Julien Laurens claims that Jorginho is still an option.
The Italian has been a regular for the Blues this term and he recently converted two penalties in the 4-0 win over Crystal Palace.
Still, there remains the speculation over his future with manager Frank Lampard eyeing a late raid for West Ham United's Declan Rice.
Arsenal have signed Willian, Dani Ceballos and Gabriel Magalhaes this summer. They have spent only £23m in the transfer window to date.
