Manchester United defender determined to seal January exit
Manchester United centre-back Phil Jones will look to pursue a fresh challenge away from the club when the transfer window reopens at the turn of the year.
Jones has struggled with injuries over the past few seasons and he has not made a competitive appearance for United since January 2020.
Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly are all ahead of him in the pecking order and The Sun claims that the 28-year-old is determined to leave Old Trafford this winter.
Jones was linked with a possible move to Newcastle United during the recent transfer window, but a deal never materialised after the Red Devils decided against cashing in on his services.
So far, he has failed to make the matchday squad in any of the club's matches this season and it appears that he is now desperate to revive his career at the earliest possibility.
Jones is currently one of the longest-serving players at United and he has made 224 appearances across all competitions. However, he has turned out only eight times for them since the beginning of last season.
