Malen on Barcelona radar?

Barcelona could make an attempt to sign PSV Eindhoven forward Donyell Malen in January, should they fail to land the signature of Memphis Depay.

Depay had agreed personal terms with the Blaugrana earlier this summer, but the deal broke down on deadline day after the club failed to meet the transfer demands of Lyon.

The Dutchman is likely to push for a move to the Camp Nou at the turn of the year, but AS claims that the Blaugrana have an alternative option at hand, suppose they are unable to convince Les Gones to do business.

Malen spent two years in the Arsenal academy between 2015 and 2017 before he made the switch to PSV. The 21-year-old has excelled for the club with 33 goals and 16 assists from 80 appearances.

PSV are not actively looking into the sale of their prized asset, but the lack of Champions League football and financial impact of COVID-19 could tempt them to cash in on his services.

Arsenal are also said to be monitoring the proceedings with reports suggesting that they may look to reinforce their attack during the winter transfer window.
