Juventus favourites to sign Chelsea defender

Juventus are reportedly leading the race to sign Emerson Palmieri from Chelsea during the January transfer window.

The left-back was desperate to pursue a fresh challenge during the summer, but a deal did not materialise before the transfer deadline.

He has barely played for the Blues this term with the arrival of Ben Chilwell and he has made the solitary start against Barnsley in the EFL Cup.

According to Tuttosport, Emerson is attracting plenty of interest from the Serie A where he built his reputation with AS Roma.

It is added that the Bianconeri are currently leading the race to sign him and are prepared to open negotiations in advance.

The Serie A holders will propose to land him on loan in January with the option for a permanent deal at the end of the season.

The likes of Napoli and Inter Milan were also linked with his services during the recently concluded transfer window.
