Serie A giants keen on signing Chelsea defender

Napoli have reportedly joined Juventus and Inter Milan in the race to sign Chelsea defender Emerson during the January transfer window.

The Italy international has fallen out-of-favour for the left-back role after the arrival of Ben Chilwell and he has made only two starts in the Cup competitions.

His playing time is unlikely to improve in the coming weeks unless Frank Lampard opts for rotation and La Repubblica claims that he could head for a new challenge in January.

Juventus and Inter are known to be admirers of Emerson, but they could face fresh competition from Napoli, who are also keen on bolstering the left side of their backline.

Emerson has recently admitted that he is frustrated with his situation at Stamford Bridge and may consider his options in January, particularly with him being a regular for the national team.

The former Roma man has been the undisputed left-back for the Azzurri over the past year and he will need regular playing time to cement his spot for Euro 2020.
