Manchester City want Uruguayan star as Sergio Aguero successor
Manchester City have reportedly earmarked Benfica striker Darwin Nunez as a potential successor to Sergio Aguero.
Aguero's current deal with the club expires next summer and so far, he has yet to put pen-to-paper on a renewal.
Hence, the Argentine could head for the exit door in nine months' time and The Cityzens are on the look out for a possible successor.
According to The Telegraph, the Mancunian giants are weighing up different targets and Nunez is one of those, who has caught their eye.
Nunez joined Benfica from Almeria earlier this summer and he has since registered five goals and six assists from just 11 games.
He has also made a fine start to his international career with Uruguay and he has bagged two goals from his first four caps.
Barcelona are also monitoring the 21-year-old's performances and there could be a bidding battle at the end of the season.
The likes of West Ham United and Everton were linked with the centre-forward last summer before he made the move to Lisbon.
