City made approach for Lukaku last summer

Manchester City reportedly attempted to sign Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku during the previous transfer window.

The Cityzens are on the hunt for a new striker as Sergio Aguero could potentially leave the club when his contract expires in June next year.

According to The Telegraph, Pep Guardiola's side looked at the possibility of landing Lukaku from the Nerazzurri last summer.

However, a deal never materialised for the Belgian after they were put off by the £94m price tag set by the San Siro giants.

Lukaku parted ways with Manchester United after two seasons to join Inter in 2019 and he has since bagged 43 goals from just 60 outings.

He has been their main goalscoring source and has formed the perfect partnership with Lautaro Martinez upfront over the past 18 months.

Martinez has also been linked with a move to the Cityzens in the past and it remains to be seen whether they revive their interest for either.
