United to swap Bailly for Pau Torres?

Manchester United are reportedly looking to sign Villarreal defender Pau Torres in a player-plus-cash deal involving Eric Bailly.

The Red Devils have depended on Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire at the heart of the defence over the past 18 months and Bailly has struggled to break the partnership, partly due to injuries.

According to TEAMtalk, the Mancunian giants are open to parting ways with Bailly and could offer him in a part-exchange deal to sign Torres from Villarreal.

Torres is widely regarded as one of Spain's best performing centre-backs and over the past year, he has established himself as a regular with the national side.

He has been valued at around £60m, but United will be hoping that Villarreal agree to a part-exchange deal involving Bailly such that the price tag is reasonably reduced.

Bailly joined the Red Devils from the Yellow Submarines four years ago. It remains to be seen whether the La Liga side are willing to re-sign him, considering his recent injury record.
