Arsenal are unlikely to make a January approach to sign Norwich City midfielder Emiliano Buendia, a report from Football.London claims.

The north London giants have made a dismal start to the season and they are currently 14th on the Premier League table with only 13 points.

It has been recently reported that they could pursue a creative midfielder in January, but the hierarchy appear to hold no interest in Buendia.

The Argentine was one of the Canaries' top performers last term as they were relegated from the top-flight without much resistance.

He has impressed this term with two goals and five assists in the Championship, but the Gunners are unlikely to pursue his services.

Instead, they could look into a more high-profile option. Lyon's Houssem Aouar and Red Bull Salzburg's Dominik Szoboszlai have been regularly linked.

Aouar was touted to join the club during the summer transfer window, but their £35m transfer offer fell short of Les Gones' £50m price tag, which was non-negotiable.
