Newcastle United want Chelsea defender on loan?
Newcastle United are reportedly planning a loan move for Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori when the transfer window reopens in January.
The England international has struggled for playing time since the arrival of Thiago Silva, who has formed a terrific partnership with Kurt Zouma at the heart of the defence.
According to The Mail, Steve Bruce's side are weighing up a loan move for Tomori, but they could face stiff competition from numerous overseas clubs including Rennes.
Tomori came on the cusp of joining West Ham United on loan last summer, but he made a late U-turn and decided to fight for his position in the Blues defence.
That has not worked out as he has made just three appearances for the Blues. Only one of those have come in the Premier League and he has managed just 44 minutes.
Tomori is currently the fifth-choice centre-back at the club. He is currently behind Silva, Zouma, Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen in the selection order.
