Arsenal yet to approach for Szoboszlai

Arsenal have yet to make any approach for Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Dominic Szoboszlai.

The Hungarian is regarded as one of the most sought-after young midfielders in Europe and he has been tipped to leave his club at the turn of the year.

According to Bild, RB Leipzig are leading the race to sign the playmaker from their sister club when the transfer window reopens in January.

It is added that the Gunners have not made any formal move, but Szoboszlai would re-consider his options, suppose Mikel Arteta's side bid for him.

The north London side have lacked the presence of a creative midfielder in their squad this term and they have scored just two goals in the past seven league games.

Lyon's Houssem Aouar was obviously their top target last summer, but their £35m bid was well below the £50m price tag. Szoboszlai could emerge as the alternative for the next transfer window.

Szoboszlai, who has bagged eight goals and nine assists for Salzburg this term, has a release clause of just £18m on his contract which is currently active.
