Lucas Torreira's agent insists midfielder has no plans of Arsenal return
Lucas Torreira's agent has insisted that the Arsenal midfielder has no plans of cutting short his loan spell with Atletico Madrid during the winter transfer window.
The Uruguay international fell out-of-favour under Mikel Arteta during the backend of last season and he was loaned out to Atleti in the summer after they managed to lure Thomas Partey from the Madrid giants.
Torreira has since struggled for regular playing time with the La Liga heavyweights, but agent Pablo Bentancur has affirmed that his client will be staying put with the club.
"Lucas is serene and has nothing in his mind beyond continuing with Atletico. He's ending his period of adaptability," He said in an interview with Gianluca di Marzio.
Torreira's current deal with the Gunners expires in June 2023. Diego Simeone's side don't have the option to buy, but Torreira will be hoping that he can make sufficient impact to secure a permanent transfer.
The former Sampdoria man has made nine appearances for Atleti in all competitions this term. However, only two of those have come from the starting lineup.
