Mikel Arteta provides fresh update on Aubameyang's injury
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has suffered a minor calf strain which could keep him sidelined for the rest of the year.
The Gabon international was absent for the recent trip to Goodison Park to face Everton where the Gunners suffered their eighth Premier League defeat of the campaign.
Speaking after the 2-1 loss, Arteta acknowledged that Aubameyang could be out of action for one or two weeks, but refused to confirm the exact timescale for his comeback.
"We want him back as quickly as possible. He has a small strain and he will need a few days. I don't know if it's a week or two weeks, it will depend how the injury evolves," He told via the club's official website.
The Gunners are currently 15th on the table with just 14 points on the board. They are only four points ahead of the relegation places, having made their worst ever start to a Premier League campaign.
