Manchester United keen to agree deal with David Alaba
Manchester United are reportedly eager to negotiate a pre-contract with David Alaba when the transfer window reopens next week.
Alaba has spent his entire career with Bayern Munich where he has accumulated more than 400 appearances in all competitions.
However, he could be on the move in the near future after talks over a possible new deal beyond next summer broke down.
As things stand, Alaba will be free to speak with foreign clubs next month and The Mirror claims that United are among the favourites to sign him.
It is added that the Red Devils will propose a pre-contract as soon as possible as they look to beat off competition from their European rivals.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are understood to have already made contact with the representative of the defender regarding their interest.
Alaba is primarily a left-back, but over the past year, he has excelled playing in the central defence alongside Jerome Boateng.
The duo were instrumental towards Bayern winning their second treble last season. Similar to Alaba, Boateng's current deal expires next summer.
