Gabriel Magalhaes to miss another two games for Arsenal
Gabriel Magalhaes won't feature for the Gunners for the next two competitive games after testing positive for the coronavirus.
The Brazil international contracted the virus before the derby against Chelsea and that saw Pablo Mari take his position in the starting lineup.
Mari had a cautious beginning where he was booked, but he produced a solid display thereafter with numerous clearances and interceptions.
The Spaniard is likely to keep his place for the next two games as well with the Gunners confirming that Gabriel won't be available due to COVID-19 protocols.
Even if Gabriel makes a quick recovery, he is unlikely to return to action until the FA Cup third round tie against Newcastle United on January 9, 2021.
Arsenal recently ended a seven-match winless streak in the league with a 3-1 win over Chelsea. As a result, they have moved to 14th on the table.
Still, they are nine points behind the top-four positions and Mikel Arteta will be hoping that his team can build a winning run together.
