Chelsea keen on signing Declan Rice this month
Chelsea could make an attempt to sign midfielder Declan Rice from West Ham United during the current transfer window.
Earlier this summer, the club were interested in Rice, but they could not afford the £80m price tag after their £220m spending spree.
The England international has continued to be linked with the Blues and TalkSPORT claims that the club could make an approach this month.
The Blues currently can't afford the asking price, but they are hoping to recoup funds from player sales over the next few weeks.
Frank Lampard's side have recently stumbled in the Premier League with only four points from six league games and that sees them eighth on the table.
They were regarded as potential title challengers in early November, but they now find themselves in a poor run of form with four defeats in the past six matches.
Chelsea's next league game will come up against Fulham on the road. Prior to that, they are scheduled to host Morecambe in the third round of the FA Cup this weekend.
